We hope that these students will continue to attend the centre in the new classes that are planned for the coming months.

These students are also encouraged to continue with their school and college education and the interaction at the centre is important as the staff encourage these young people not to drop out of education. There is a lot of pressure on them to get a paid job or in the case of the girls, to get married. Of course education is vital to help them to get a better salary and a more interesting job. For many of these young people it is traditional to follow in the footsteps of their parents and to become rag pickers or domestic servants. We are hoping that they will make more of their lives as they are able to receive better opportunities at this young age, that they will continue to work hard and achieve much.

To that end Mr Kadambavanam has also organised a career counselling session for these young people. Two experienced educators have agreed to give their time and attend to this event which will be an important event for these youngsters as they plan for their future.
