Beefachi Kadi (Beef Curry – Mangalore Style)
Pressure Cooking Time 25 minutes

75 g ginger
40 flakes garlic
½ cup vegetable oil
8 whole dry red chillies broken into pieces
½ tsp turmeric powder
1 ½ kg boneless beef cut into 4 cm cubes
4 tsp salt
450 g tomatoes cut into quarters
¼ cup water

Method
1. Grind ginger and garlic into a paste.
2. Heat oil in cooker for about 3 minutes. Add ginger-garlic paste. Stir fry for about 2 minutes. Add chillies, turmeric powder and meat. Stir fry for about 2 minutes. Add all other ingredients. Stir.
3. Close cooker. Bring to full pressure on high heat. Reduce heat and cook for 25 minutes.
4. Remove cooker from heat. Allow to cool naturally.
5. Open cooker. Serve hot.
